Three great on-line magazines!
I love anything that celebrates authentic food that is inspired by seasonal, natural ingredients. I love anything that inspires passion for things hand made and I love anything that has a respect and love for nature.
For all of these reasons I love these 3 magazines, plus the fact that they are free and available to view on the internet!

I have a bone to pick with Nando's
One of my favorite restaurants has really let me down! Last week for lunch, I ordered up a delicious plate of food and asked for a glass of water. Well, I was pretty surprised when they informed me that they don’t serve tap water - I’d have to choose from the drink list. I’m not huge on soda and didn’t feel like a coffee; if I wanted to drink water, it would have to be bottled water.
At this...

A fun Sunday with Veggie Thursday!
Today my family and I headed over to Fort Canning Park for the Veggie Thursday Happy Feet Carnival. I realized that up until today, I had only been to Fort Canning for concerts at night, a so it was quite an adventure seeing it under a whole new light. It’s like being in a different place, with a great feel of history and nature all around you!
The event itself was good fun. Tons of food,...

Repurpose It! Glass Jars
Don’t throw away the jar - take it out for a picnic and make your own Mason Jar Meal!
The Decorated Cookie has worked this all out! It’s so detailed! Why? She explains “I wanted a meal that tasted freshly made, even after sitting for hours.” Layering keeps wet, heavy ingredients on the bottom and dry ingredients on top. No more soggy salads!
You can even add a bow and...

Behind The Brand Recap
Hope you’ve had a good week! I’ve been busy planning my daughter’s 4th birthday party and rechecking the weather forecast every ten minutes! This means I’m on light posting duties until the big day. So, for Behind the Brand this week, I thought we could revisit some of the great business people who sat down with me and opened up about their journey:

Beat the Haze with Household Plants!
So the haze is back and it looks like it could linger over Singapore till the end of the month. As we face yet another season of poor air quality, many of us seek refuge indoors - but you might be surprised to find out that your own home can be an unhealthy environment too.
A team of scientists at NASA embarked on a 2 year study to developed a method for clearing indoor pollution - what was the...

Kiddie Birthday Inspirations
I’ve been scouring the internet, gathering ideas for my daughter’s 4th birthday. This year she has requested a “Princess and Dragon party”. In truth, she asked for a Princess and Dinosaurs party, but I had no idea how to combine the two! So we compromised with dragons. I swear she is the funniest little girl - she’s a girly-tomboy and I love that!
To help me in...

Behind The Brand - Etrican
I recently sat down with the duo behind Etrican - a Singapore-based fashion label, working exclusively with organic and eco-friendly materials!
Their philosophy is really quite special: Wearing eco-friendly fabric should be the norm and needn’t dictate the style. What you will find here is a clean modern look, with a bit of edge.
Yumiko is the designer and Dragos manages the business -...

Coming Clean Campaign - false organics and who's...
Some well known beauty companies are being put on the chopping block by the Coming Clean Campaign for being deceptive about how eco-friendly they really are, and falsely marketing themselves as “certified organic”
There are many different certifications, with varying sets of criteria. The USDA Organic Certification is one of the strictest certifications - it instills great trust...

Happy Find - Reclaimed and Recycled Wood Furniture
Hope you had a happy weekend! I was out hunting for recycled furniture for my balcony make-over and I happened upon a lucky find - Originals out in Bukit Timah. Wow! I was blown away - such beautiful one of a kind pieces, made from recycled teak or re-purposed wood from old buildings in India being destroyed for rebuilding.
You’ll find old doors turned into tables, old furniture given a new...

We talked about what led her to an unexpected change in career direction, how she built her business, and her motivations to create something that makes the world a little better.
Now, I really imagined Humaa to be some kind of industrial chemist or mad scientist - I...
